The arrest came after several people made posts on social media yesterday afternoon to warn others about a man driving around the Rosehill neighborhood trying to get kids to get in the vehicle with him
Texarkana Texas Police Officers Casey Schmidt and Jonathan Price located him as he was leaving the MOJO Convenience Store parking lot not long after the posts started showing up. They stopped him for a traffic violation and discovered that he didn't have a drivers license. Johnnie Perkins of Hooks was arrested for that, and then they found marijuana in the vehicle when they were inventorying his vehicle before having it towed. That caught him another charge. Then, a felony warrant for Evading Detention from a previous incident was served on him in the jail this morning.
TTPD says, "Great job of letting us know what was going on. Whenever you see something that's not right, just call 911 and we will come check it out for you. Might wind up being nothing - or you might help us stop something bad from happening."
