A Texarkana pastor is being held in the Miller County jail on five counts of rape.
Court records show 51-year-old Cedric Monteze Sharp, who identifies himself as pastor of Bright Star Missionary Baptist Church, was arrested February 11. His bond is set at $500,000.
The charges reportedly involve a single alleged victim. During an initial court appearance before Tommy Potter, conditions were set requiring Sharp to have no contact with the alleged victim, avoid alcohol and non-prescribed drugs, and not possess firearms.
If convicted, Sharp could face 10 to 40 years or life in prison on each count. He is scheduled to return to court in early March for a status hearing.
