A pedestrian who was hit by a motorist in Longview and remained atop the vehicle until the driver arrived at work has been identified.
55-year-old Michael Ross of Longview was walking on Neiman Marcus Parkway when he was struck by an SUV. Authorities say the area was dark at the time and the driver alleges he believed he had struck a wild animal. Officials say that a witness has corroborated the driver’s account.
No charges are being filed against the driver, as Marcus was in a traffic lane instead of on the roadside.
