Fourth of July show cancelled in downtown Texarkana

The Independence Day fireworks show in downtown Texarkana has been cancelled again this year.

Because of proximity to the animal shelter, no one has applied for a permit to hold a fireworks show in the downtown area.  However, several communities in the area are holding fireworks shows throughout the coming weekend. 

Atlanta, Texas, is holding their show at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday behind the Atlanta Fire Department. 

Hope will also have a fireworks show on Saturday beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Hope Municipal Airport. 

Redwater, Texas, will have a show on Sunday conducted by the First Baptist Church from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the church. 

New Boston will hold a show at 6:00 p.m. on Monday at T&P Trailhead Park. 

Ashdown will hold their Fourth of July event at 4:00 p.m. on Monday at the Ashdown Junior High School. 

Wake Village will hold a fireworks show Monday night at 9:00 p.m. at King’s Park. 

Doddridge will hold a Fourth of July event at the Community Development Council at dark.
