MCSO: Traffic stop leads to drug charge

A traffic stop by the Miller County Sheriff’s Office led to charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.

According to the sheriff’s office, a deputy initiated a traffic stop after observing a speeding vehicle at around 1 p.m. on Tuesday in the 2800 block of East Street.

The driver, identified as Jonathan Calvin, informed the deputy that he didn’t have a driver’s license, but did have a state identification card.  When the id card was checked by dispatch, it was discovered that Calvin’s driver’s license had been suspended.

Upon a search of Calvin and the vehicle, deputies located drug paraphernalia and a suspected controlled substance.  Calvin was then transported to Miller County Detention Center.
