Trial scheduled for De Queen man accused of shooting sons

    A man from De Queen accused of shooting his two sons is scheduled for a pre-trial hearing in Sevier County.

    66-year-old Armando Benitez Arce was arrested in November after police responded to a double shooting  on Bobby Lane in De Queen.  Officers arrived on scene to find the two victims, identified as Arce's sons.

    The victims were taken to an area hospital, though one of the men died during transport. 

    Arce was arrested for the shootings, but has pleaded not guilty.  Arce’s pre-trial hearing will take place today, with a trial scheduled for March 15.

    Arce could face up to 40 years in prison for murder and up to 30 years for attempted murder if found guilty.
