The Texarkana, Texas, Police Department has charged three people with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

According to police, the situation began over a property dispute between the two victims and their alleged assailants.

The victims told police that John Thompson, his girlfriend Madison Sprayberry, and her mother Ashley Sprayberry drove from their property in Bowie County to the victims’ residence in the 3700 block of Magnolia Street at around 2:30 a.m. on February 23.

During a confrontation there, Madison allegedly jumped on one of the victims and began kicking her and hit her with what the victim believes were brass knuckles.  Thompson allegedly struck the male victim in the head several times with a baseball bat.  The victims claim that Ashley, who had driven the trio, laughed while the beating was going on.

    Both victims were severely injured.

After TTPD’s investigation into the matter, the trio were arrested by Bowie County deputies.  Bond for each was set at $100,000.
