The Bowie County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a double homicide after a man and woman were found dead Thursday on a private road in De Kalb.
Deputies and the Sims Volunteer Fire Department responded to the 700 block of Private Road 42041 after a family member went looking for Donna Culpepper. She was found dead in the driveway of property owned by Charles Beckham.
A search of the area led investigators to Beckham’s burned truck, and later, to Beckham’s body elsewhere on the property. Evidence at the scene suggests both deaths were homicides.
Culpepper’s gray 2025 Nissan Sentra, with Illinois plate FP281446, is missing and listed as stolen. Anyone with information is urged to contact Investigator Michelle Alexander at (903) 628-6819.
