As Thanksgiving nears, two Texarkana shelters are asking for community help to make the season brighter for those in need.
The Salvation Army will hold a Thanksgiving food drive Monday, November 17th, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at its thrift store on Walton Drive. Donations of traditional holiday foods like stuffing, canned vegetables, and pie are especially welcome.
Meanwhile, Randy Sams Outreach Shelter is accepting food, clothing, and hygiene items around the clock at 402 Oak Street. Monetary donations can be made online at randysams.org. Both shelters say every gift helps provide warmth, comfort, and a hot meal this holiday season.
