Texarkana Arkansas Police arrested 19-year-old Vanderic Ross early Tuesday morning after a break-in at the Family Dollar on East Street.
Around 2:30 a.m., officers responded to a burglary alarm and found the store’s front door smashed. They spotted a suspect running through the store before fleeing on foot. After a short chase through a nearby residential area, officers surrounded the scene and took Ross into custody. Surveillance video showed him using a pry bar to break in and try to open cash boxes and an ATM before running out the back.
Police say the arrest highlights their ongoing efforts to stop crime and protect the community.
