The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department is warning residents about a new IRS phone scam.
Police say scammers may call claiming to be IRS agents and say you owe money. They may even give a fake badge number and threaten fines or arrest if you don’t pay immediately.
Authorities say the IRS will not call to demand payment or ask for money through wire transfers or prepaid debit cards.
Police urge residents to stop, think, and never send money to unknown callers.
