The Texarkana Arts & Historic District has announced the winning theme for the next round of murals at Kress Gap in downtown Texarkana — Regional Legends and Folklore. The theme was chosen by the community after more than 350 residents voted among three options.
Work to remove the old artwork and reinforce the wall began September 22nd, kicking off the site’s next chapter. Local and regional artists are now invited to submit mural proposals that bring the theme to life.
The district says the project will highlight the area’s culture and connect the community through art. Proposals are due by Monday, November 3rd, and can be emailed to Brooke Stone at brooke.stone@texarkanatexas.gov.
