The Texarkana community is rallying around 6-year-old Walker Morgan after he was diagnosed with leukemia.

Walker, who recently started first grade, loves football, fishing, hunting and spending time outdoors. His family says he is a big Texas Longhorns fan and enjoys spending time with his older sister, Ally.

Walker was first hospitalized in Texarkana after doctors found abnormal blood levels. He was later airlifted to Arkansas Children’s Hospital for testing and treatment.

Local businesses and community members are raising money to help the Morgan family with expenses. A cornhole tournament is planned for September 5.

Diamond Bank has also established a benefit account for Walker. Donations can be made at the bank at 5714 Richmond Road in Texarkana, Texas.

Walker remains at Arkansas Children’s Hospital as doctors determine the specific type of leukemia and prepare to begin treatment.
