A Texarkana man has been charged with two counts of child endangerment following a crash tied to a family dispute that began at a yard sale last month.
Police say 50-year-old Aniceto Salais Martinez is being held in the Bowie County jail with bail set at $175,000. Investigators say the incident started March 28 during an argument involving Martinez, his girlfriend, his son, and daughter-in-law.
According to an affidavit, Martinez allegedly pursued his son and daughter-in-law in traffic and swerved in front of their vehicle near Texas Boulevard and Yale Street, causing a crash. Authorities say a 5-year-old and a 1-year-old were in the vehicles involved.
Martinez was arrested on two child endangerment charges. If convicted, he faces two to 20 years in prison on each count.
