A Texarkana man has pleaded guilty in federal court to a drug charge involving what he believed was fentanyl.
Tacorrius “Cory” Marquan Jordan admitted to possessing with intent to distribute nearly 100 grams of a substance sold in November 2024 to a confidential informant working with law enforcement. However, a DEA lab later determined the substance was actually BTMPS, an industrial chemical used in plastics that has recently appeared in the illegal drug supply.
Jordan entered his plea before U.S. Magistrate Judge James Boone Baxter in the Eastern District of Texas. He now awaits sentencing following a pre-sentence investigation.
Several co-defendants are also named in the federal case, which remains partially under seal.
