Texarkana, Texas police have identified 21-year-old Jaylen Betts as the victim of a deadly shooting early Saturday morning. Officers responded just after midnight to the 1300 block of Carroll Avenue, where Betts was found dead inside a home.
Police say someone fired multiple shots into the house from the street, then ran away. A 52-year-old man was also shot in the leg and is recovering.
Several others were inside the home but were not hurt. Officer Shawn Vaughn called the shooting “scary and dangerous,” noting a similar case weeks ago where a child was injured.
