Three people were arrested in Fouke on Wednesday, April 9, following a drug investigation and search of a home on Alfred Street.
Sgt. Jeremy Cornett was patrolling when he saw Jacob Washburn enter a home at 508 W. Alfred Street. Knowing Washburn had a misdemeanor warrant, Sgt. Cornett approached and noticed a child’s Power Wheels fire truck in the yard—matching one reported stolen in a recent burglary.
A woman at the home, Lauren Edwards, said Washburn had brought the toy two days earlier but didn’t say where it came from. When asked to retrieve him, she said he had slipped out the back. Backup arrived, and Washburn was found hiding behind a camper. He was taken into custody and admitted to dropping a bag of meth nearby. He was booked for the warrant, possession of a controlled substance, and fleeing.
A search of the home led to the discovery of suspected meth, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. Edwards and homeowner Terri Halliburton were also arrested and booked on drug charges.
